Environmental Policies

As Land and Engineering Surveyors, the work of Severn Partnership should have little impact on the environment in as much as it is solely concerned with the physical measurement of spatial parameters. However, in view of the importance of environmental awareness, Severn Partnership has adopted a policy as shown below.
  • All relevant local, national and international legislation which impinges upon our activities, will be complied with.

  • Survey methods to be used will take into account any possible impact on the surrounding environment.

  • Where environmental impact of our work is unavoidable, this will be minimised.

  • A visual assessment of the work site will be made by a senior member of staff.

  • If the proposed work appears likely to cause significant environmental damage, the client’s advice will be requested before this work commences.

  • Environmental awareness of all employees will be encouraged, with training provided if appropriate.

  • Environmental principles for purchasing consumables, minimising wastes, recycling of wastes will be adopted where practical. Waste materials will be removed from work sites and disposed of appropriately.

  • Efficient use of partnership vehicles will be encouraged to minimise emissions and fuel usage.

  • Clients will be informed of this policy and their active co-operation will be sought.

  • The Environment Agency’s document ‘Countryside Awareness – notes for surveyors’ will be adopted as an appendix to this policy.
