Investment in our people has always been a core objective of Severn Partnership and is seen as the key foundation stone to the long term sustainability of the business. The directors have total committment to this investment at all levels, promote a culture of continuing professional development and routinely review and plan training activities at all levels within the organisation. A wide range of training methods, techniques and courses are employed:-
Training was given a high priority before we attained the standard in 2000 and we did not go down the IIP route “just for the badge” . Adopting the standard has helped us to formalise our commitment to investing in our people and allowed us to move forward faster with the added benefit that we can regularly compare progress not only with our peers but with other similar industries. 25 years ago Severn Partnership was founded by two Chartered Surveyors living in Shrewsbury, one from South Africa and one more local, but both having travelled extensively across the World. They slowly and carefully built up the company, initially relying on Salopians but increasingly taking the best people from across the UK and from as far a field as Spain, Germany and Poland. We believe in this diversity and value not only the different surveying skills it brings, but also the positive influences bought to the team through exposure to a wider range of cultures. Our unique selling proposition will always be our people, who after our customers are our greatest priority.
