Working Partnership

In 1983 the original business was formed as a partnership between two Chartered Surveyors who shared the philosophy of working with customers, not for them.

Our objective is always to establish ourselves as the preferred supplier, so we aim to build long term relationships with all our customers by paying great attention to feedback from existing projects and by constantly monitoring their future requirements and 25 years later, we are still working with some of our original customers, including our very first one!

So what do we mean by partnership? It’s a term that has become increasingly popular but can mean different things to different companies.

It is important to explain our understanding of partnership and how as it plays a major part in defining who we are, what we do, and why we are different.

Working in partnership we aim to:-
  • be open and honest with our customers at all times
  • establish effective communications at all levels
  • make decisions in an environment of trust
  • raise collective performance through agreed common goals
  • commit to quality, minimise risk and focus on delivery
  • facilitate effective joint working through a structured management approach
  • build a project partnering team with the customer, ourselves and trusted specialists
  • use regular feedback to ensure continuing development of the relationship
  • make the working environment a pleasant and enjoyable one
  • deliver quality data and best value
We recognise that our suppliers’ contribution is critical to our success and make sure they play a full and effective part in delivering the best quality service through regular visits and by engaging with them in our supplier index framework.

We also work in partnership with the wider community including schools, colleges, universities, councils and charities, helping to keep us in touch with wider issues and developments, so important in understanding the wide spectrum of customers we work with.

Lastly and by no means least, we work in partnership with our greatest asset, our people. We like to think of Severn Partnership as one large multi-disciplined team which not only works together but socialises together. This helps us focus on our individual strengths and recognise and improve on our weaknesses.
