3D Modelling

3D modelling is the process of developing a wireframe representation of any three-dimensional object, using specialised software. This model can then be displayed as a solid surface by ‘rendering’ the wireframe model and effectively hiding detail that would not be seen by ‘line of sight’.

We can create a variety of 3D modelling solutions from varied datasets and for differing purposes.

Example 3D modelling projects include:
  • 3D surface Digital Terrain Model (DTM) of a proposed tip used in a visualisation to gain planning approval
  • 3D wireframe and Sketchup model of roof plans
  • Extruding standard 2D floor plans to create 3D models for shop refits or design visualisation
  • Rights of light planning and & disputes
  • Planning applications
We can create deliverables for AutoCAD, Microstation, Sketchup, 3D Studio, Cyclone, Pointools and many more.

3D modelling is now faster and more accurate than in previous surveys as we use our 3D laser scanning technology to gather the source data. The 3D models are then build directly on top of this source data; quality checking as we go.
