Survey Advice & Consultancy

Advice

Getting the best advice before finalising any survey work (tender) will pay dividends.

So why use The Severn Partnership Ltd for your survey advice? The answer is in our people, their experience the accreditations they hold.

The directors and senior surveyors all have extensive experience in providing survey solutions throughout the UK and overseas.

All our directors are Chartered Surveyors Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and members of the Institute of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES).

As Chartered Surveyors, the advice we offer must always be in the clients’ best interests – not Severn Partnership’s.

Through links with our instrument suppliers, Leica, Trimble and The Survey Association, our trade association, we keep ourselves at the forefront of new developments in surveying.

We have attended conferences in Germany, San Francisco, Las Vegas and the UK to keep abreast of the latest developments in surveying technology and have lobbied Government on critical issues relating to our profession.

We also promote a culture of continuous innovation supported through active collaboration with external specialists and agencies and through investment in our quality systems. Investors in People accreditation, ongoing training and personal development initiatives are in place for all members of our team.

We also recognise that to maximise our contribution to any project will need to work effectively as part of a wider team, including architects, consulting engineers, planners and project managers. Our commitment to partnership working means that our advice can often help our partners win more business by making their bids more competitive.

Above all, we are experts in measurement and enjoy the challenge of finding solutions to unusual measurement problems.

Consultancy

Our experience in managing complex survey projects and developing innovative survey solutions means we are often called upon to act in a consultancy role which may involve:-
  • Establishing a project framework
  • Defining survey specifications
  • Coordinating project team activities
  • Providing on site survey teams to undertake quality checks
  • Office based data comparisons such as volume computations
  • Proving surveys
  • Acting as the ‘in house’ survey department for consulting engineers
We can advise on how best to carry out large scale surveys, discuss techniques and point out the most cost effective solutions.

A recent project which demonstrated our ability to add value through the application of consultancy skill involved the creation of a bespoke survey grid projection along the length of the East Coast main line in order to ensure the consistency and ease of use of rail survey data for all of the organisations engaged in the project.
