The Plan Data:

An essential starting point to changing the use of any piece of land is a high quality, accurate, up to date plan drawn at an appropriate scale.

The plan must be accurate in every detail, showing all features that are relevant to the development. The survey information must then be provided in a form that is most easily understood by the client. Height information can be shown either as spot levels or contours. Heights can then be used to produce mathematical ground models which in turn can be used to produce sectional information and volumes (typically cut/fill) which can greatly assist design engineers.

The Technology:

We utilise the very latest survey instrumentation to ensure high accuracy and fast field completion, saving us time and you money. We offer a range of solutions for data capture, including:
  • Trimble mag-drive robotic reflectorless total stations
  • Bar code levels
  • Precise level & invar staffs
  • Static & and RTK GPS
  • Leica Smartnet
  • HDS scanstation Laser scanner

The Team:

We employ a team of highly educated surveyors who have trained to our rigorous quality assurance system, IIP assessments, continued professional development and RICS regulation. The result is a surveyor on site capable of providing the right high accuracy data for your needs. All projects are supervised by RICS qualified Chartered Surveyors who manage the definition of the survey specifications prior to field work.
Experience is vital for highlighting potential pitfalls, site hazards or items that should be included in the survey remit.

The Remit:

We have completed projects from one team working for a day on a small rural building site to four teams working for two months in a busy city centres.

Whatever the scale, all projects need to start from a well defined and agreed survey specification.

Our experience means that we may often survey more than is asked for; for example if we know that the ridge and eaves height of adjacent properties may by important for planning purposes.

The Deliverables:

  • Hard copy colour plan at defined scale (1:50. 1:100, 1:200, 1:500, 1:1000, 1:1250)
  • Survey linked to O.S National Grid if required
  • Digital data as DXF or DWG file
  • MX Moss data GEN file
  • Witness diagrams and station descriptions
  • A well installed, secure network of survey control stations (for future work)
  • Telephone support after delivery

Quality Assurance:

To ensure high standards and achieve the desired accuracy and completeness of our drawings, we work to a thorough quality assurance system.

  • Field checking provisional data prior to issue
  • Drawing production is overseen by a supervising senior surveyor
  • Computational and data redundancy checks are built in to the surveys
  • All transcribed data and computations are checked
  • Surveyors report back to the management team on each and every job with the aim of continual improvement
